About The Library

The Saraighat College Library is an ideal knowledge hub established for the benefit of the students and the college fraternity. The library although is not big in size but it is equipped with all modern facilities. It contains numerous text books, reference books, journals of national and international repute along with a rich digital repository.

The library uses the SOUL 2.0 (ILMS) Integrated library management software developed by INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar based on requirements of college and university libraries for library automation and provides digital facilities for open access through the use of D-Space software which has been hosted on the web.

  6. For E-books and E-Journals access the college library has provided the N-List facility which is registered with INFLIBNET, Gandhinagar
  7. Online Public Access Catalogue(OPAC) is provided to the readers for easy searches of any books, magazines, references etc available in the library
  8. Book Bank facility is available for BPL students
  9. Online access of Institutional Repository through D-Space
  10. Best Reader award is given to the student who spends maximum time reading in the library utilizing its resources

Library Timings: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays

Rules and Regulations

Students are entitled to borrow books for 15 days as per the following:

B.A.(Major)students : 03 books at a time

B.A. (General) students: 02 books at a time

H.S. students: 02 books at a time

Students can re-issue the borrowed books only once per user for another 15 days.

Any student who fails to return the books on time is fined Re.1/- per day exceeding the scheduled return period.

It is mandatory for students appearing in the final examinations to submit their library clearance certificate in the College office failing which they will be debarred from Examination form fill up.
